Feel Free To Have a Look Around

Portfolio Of My Work

Below is collection of my work that I have completed throughout my three years at University. The work has been created through numerous software packages such as Dreamweaver CS5, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, 3D Studio Max and Adobe Premier Pro.

3D Biodiversity Stamps

The aim of the assignment was to create three stamps reflecting the theme of biodiversity using 3D Studio Max.

Ideas were researched into biodiversity and a mood board was constructed to help gain an insight I could convey on a stamp.  I decided to go with the idea of woodland creatures in which I chose a butterfly, ladybird and a flower.  The stamps were then imported into Photoshop where I created a basic stamp layout.

3D Red Arrows

The purpose of the Entertainment Essex project was to create a video using 3D Max to capture elements of Essex.  The promotional video would be used to encourage visitors to come to Essex.  As a group we each had our own section to complete.  My element was entertainment.

The element I captured was the Red Arrow Air Display in Southend-on-Sea.  Using 3D Max I carefully modelled my aircraft and cloned it to create different scenes.

Once each element was finished the rendered 3D models were imported into Premier Pro in which we created titles and brought the sections together.

Yvettes Bridal Formal Website

The website www.yvetterbridalformal.com required a radical site redesign in which the owners wanted a high-end formal fashion site with an online shopping system.  Before starting design work the main goals of the website had to be indentified to help determine the audience, content, function and its look and feel.

The purpose of the site re-design was to revamp the entire look and feel of the original website in order to create an improved version. It was also about maximising the website’s potential and its performance.  The items must be displayed in a clear and concise manner so users can shop effortlessly and tasks can be performed in the same sequence and manner throughout the website.  The content had to be engaging and relevant for the target audience.
The website was created in Dreamweaver using a CSS style sheet which carried consistency throughout.  Many decisions had to be taken into account when considering the redesign, such as typography, colour scheme and chosen images.

Guide To Chelmsford

As a group we were asked to design a promotional website to attract visitors to Chelmsford.  The purpose of the website is to inform visitors on things to see and do whilst in Chelmsford.  We decided to focus on different elements to portray such as shopping, Scenic and historical landmarks.  The website is full of multimedia content such as images and videos that have been captured on location.  The website targets every age range from young teenagers to senior citizens.

Local Produce Blog

Before starting the blog I researched ideas on good site design and layout to ensure that I could maximise the viewers.  I also had to ensure I had considered good search engine optimisation in order for the blog to be a success.

The blog was created using www.blogger.com and its URL is http://ebusinesslocalproduce.blogspot.com/.

The blog must be visually inviting for users to want to click on it to find their information, as I wanted to create a ‘stickiness’, which meant they kept coming back and spending the vouchers.  The blog posts are short and easy to read, this means the user does not have to skim through lots of text before they decide if this is the website for them.  Shorter posts are easier to remember and take less time to engage in.

SJGuest Video

I have created a short documentary for a textiles designer SJGuest.  The video shows the up coming designer Sarah Jane Guest and a variety of textile products she has created in her design studio.

The video was captured using a HD Sony camera and edited using Adobe Premier Pro.

The video can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV9yZ7cxEJI.
